HOW TO CLEAN YOUR GOLD, SILVER & COPPER JEWELRY

  • Clean your jewelry with a degreaser (Dish Soap or Shampoo) then rinse.

  • Take a glass bowl that can hold 3 cups of water and line the bottom of it with aluminum foil.

  • Place your jewelry on top of the foil.

  • Pour 1/4 cup baking soda on top of the jewelry.

  • Pour 2 cups of boiling water into the bowl. Warning: It will begin to foam while cleaning the jewelry.

  • Leave jewelry in bowl for a few minutes then rinse with warm water.

* If you have hard water of if it contains a lot of sulfur, then use bottled water.
* Works great on Diamond, Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Iolite, Ruby, Sapphire, Aquamarine, and Garnet
*** Warning: DO NOT use on soft stones like Pearl, Lapis, Coral, Emeralds, Turquoise, Black Onyx, and Sodalite.

If you are not sure of the hardness of the stone, DO NOT attempt this cleaning method. Barb

Try to remember not to wear your jewelry in swimming pools or hot tubs; the chlorine is not good for it. Also, remove jewelry when cleaning with bleach, using hydrogen peroxide or any harsh chemicals. They can turn silver jewelry black which only a silver paste will remove. Do not use any instant dip jewelry cleaner! I use Jewelry Brite Tarnish Remover, it works great & is safe for stones.

My favorite polishing cloth is Sunshine Cloth. You can pick up either at a show or off my web site!
